Pet toxicity is not a very well known subject among pet owners. While you may consider some foods delicious for your pets, they may also be harmful. Different poisons could cause different symptoms in cats as well. Some of the symptoms that pet owners must always look out for include salivation, diarrhea, vomiting, twitching and fits, difficulty in breathing, skin inflammation or swelling, and notable changes in drinking and their appetite. In some severe cases, cats may collapse, go into depression, or even coma.
The items that are commonly poisonous to cats include slug bait, rodent bait, weed killers, and insect killers. Also, painkillers are harmful to pets and can prove to be fatal as they can potentially cause liver damage. The symptoms of pet toxicity can also be seen if you have certain types of plants at home. Some plants that are poisonous to cats include lilies, azalea, and castor oil plants, among numerous others.

3. Symptoms of toxicity in horses
Horses can also show symptoms of toxicity if they inject poisonous substances. Some of the common symptoms include abdominal pain, straining, diarrhea, rectal prolapse, restlessness, unsteadiness, loss of weight, difficulty in breathing, problems in swallowing, tremors, loss of appetite, and depression. The symptoms of pet toxicity in horses might not be visible immediately, but the condition could lead to kidney or liver damage. If the symptoms are not visible or noted, the sudden death of horses can also take place. Poisonous plants are one of the common causes of poisoning among horses.
